"South Coast Bus Service (Pty) Ltd ("SCBS") is a public bus passenger transport operator in the Durban Metropolitan area. The company is privately owned.

SCBS is the main business entity in the family owned S Dass Group of Companies. This group includes another transport company (Intertown Passenger Services (Pty) Ltd) and a company manufacturing specialised paper products (Pandu Paper Products (Pty) Ltd using the brand name Carousel). In addition, the Group includes a substantial property portfolio held through property owning and developing companies.

South Coast Bus Service was founded by the late Mr. S Dass (Snr) in 1939 as a one-man business with a second hand bus, to serve the community of Lamontville in Durban. It has been in continuous operation for more than 70 years, during which time its areas of operation have been expanded considerably. Mr P S Dass joined the company in 1963 and took over as MD some years before his late fathers death in 1983. Despite the phenomenal growth achieved, the company and its family owners have never lost their close association with the communities where their customers (South Coast Bus Service's passengers) live.

South Coast Bus Service operates a fleet of 60 buses serving 15 routes focussed on the transport linkages between the disadvantaged communities of Umbumbulu, Folweni, Fakazi, Isipingo, Lamontville, Merebank and commercial and industrial areas of the Duran Metropolitan area. The fleet travels approximately 3 million kilometres per annum. Trip distances vary from approximately 10 km to approximately 50 km."
